You could try putting a Pay Pal - http://www.paypal.com - button on your site.

Personally, I'd be leary of entering a contest where I had to pay something up front.

Why would you want people to pay to enter a contest?

    1. I am not sure you will get any contestants that way. People are very wary of handing out CC #'s online.

    2. Be careful. I am pretty sure when you charge, it is a lottery NOT a contest. That means there are all kinds of legal issues involved. That is why when Kraft runs a contest they say "no purchase necessary" and give you an address for a free game piece.

    Later,
    Michael

SSL is not really the issue. What I am saying is that people, whether they think it is secure or not, are not typically going around paying to enter contests online!

How many contests have you ever paid to enter?

First off......With out everyone bashing me! It's not really a contest at all. I just needed a something to put there to get some response on credit cards. I'm keeping this under raps because there is not any site like it and I don't want my ideal being took from me so.. For all you haters out there, people will be reciving something. When they enter what I have on my site.

    Hardbody...

no one is bashing you. They are just giving feedback on a "pay-to-enter" type contest.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me either, but go for it if that is what you want!

    Good luck

    No bashing was intended!

I was just letting you know to be careful.

As far as credit card processing goes...

I believe http://www.paypal.com has already been mentioned. - I use them on my site! No set up fees. Comparable processing fees.

http://www.ibill.com - I've heard a lot about them, but have no personal experience. I can't remember if I heard good or bad things.

http://www.instabill.com - No set up fees, but look out for the processing fees! Ouch!

    And there are many more!

    Good Luck,
    Michael

Maybe if you were selling a product and said something like "Each purchase enters you in our monthly drawing."

Then again, there may be some legal issues with that too. Most contests say no purchase necessary to enter.

Yea, when you tie money to a giveaway it gets dicey.
