Thread: Mailing List - Help!
Mar 27, 2001, 12:19 #1
I'm looking for a good mailing list tool that I can use for my site. Currently the one I have is written in Perl, and because it runs on a shared server, the sending mail process times out before it can send the message to all 5,000 users.
The Perl version is obviously not the answer - at least not the script I'm using.
What I'm looking for is a Mailing List utility, either remotely hosted, or as a script (CGI, PHP etc.) that I can use to:
a) Import my current member list into - 5000 email addresses, each on a separate line
b) Send mail to all users without having the process killed by the server!
c) ...Also the script should allow for easy removal of a member's address from the mailing list by the member themselves - i.e. prevent SPAM!
Would appreciate a reply on this.

Have a look at the scripts i wrote a while back..
It has an import function, easy removal of members by admin or the member themselves. As for not being killed by the server, it would need the max execution time to be enlarged most likely.
If you want it email me and ill give you a copy for free, i am working on a new version and dont intend to sell this version anymore.
