    Hi folks,

I really like the SitePoint forums but was curious if any of you have any other sites or mailing lists that you frequent often? I have found a number of sites with dead forums, and I'm trying to find some with a good level of interest and activity.

    Thanks!

    Bill

www.htmlforums.com , www.webmasterforums.com and www.siteownersforums.com but all three of them are bad forums with hardly any users. Sitepoint forums are the *Best*

Even though it's geared towards hosts, there is alot of other info there that is great for designers.

I have just signed up for www.were-here.com and they seem pretty good. although the forum colours are a real strain on the eyesight! However, I always find myself returning to SitePoint, in terms of a general Webmaster forum I think it is the best there is.

I went to this forum. I don't know whether it is any good or not. I'm not going to stay around at a web site that has a yellow background

How's this for a colour palate: bright yellow, purple, lilac.

Lissa Explains is a site for kids by a young teenage girl. The colors are very appropriate for what she's doing there. And the stuff she teaches can be used by any age group.

I think someone told me it took X number of posts before you could get that capability. I don't remember the number, but 20 seems right.

That makes it even more alarming. I am certain that this "innocent" young woman is inflicting permanent damage to the retinas of her youthful readership.

freakysid, it is a basic rule to know something before commenting on it. Lissa is 14 this year, and she began designing webpages 4 years ago. To any normal human being, she has talent.

Many people commented that purple and yellow isn't exactly the most excellent color combination, but most of her visitors need HTML help, not a website that is good in design to gawk at.

I spoke to her before and she taught me lots of things, and I'm personally grateful for that, which is why I did not appreciate your remark.

Well I know that I find a bright yellow background painful to gawk at

Does my opinion upset you? Don't be so serious - my tounge is in my cheek!

PS: I am from the planet Vulcan so please don't associate me with "normal human beings".

Well, I guess being a Vulcan explains why you don't see the humor in Lissa's design. It's a sort of light -hearted youth look and I think it's very refreshing. It's nice when a 14 year old isn't bent on looking like a corporation, which seems to be the major goal behind most web design these days. Lighten up humans! Vulcans can't lighten up, of course.
