opera freezing up with CSS background images in both HTML and BODY

well, here's an interesting one: by the looks of it, Opera freezes up (all of the UI becomes unusable for that particular tab) if it comes across a page with a background image defined in the CSS for both HTML and BODY elements. i came across this bug after i made a few changes last night to www.splintered.co.uk
to check that it's really the background images causing the hassle, i made a bare bones test page with just those rules in the CSS www.splintered.co.uk/index2.php

bizarre...i may have to just add an extra container around the page, or rethink my layout idea a tad...

Definitely hangs with Opera 7.53 and 7.23 (Win XP), but the pages render fine with Opera 7.03 and 7.11 (same machine). Have you had a peek at the 7.23 change logs?

nah, it's definitely a bug, and i doubt there will be anything in the changelogs that's more specific than "improved CSS2 support" or similar.
i've reported it as a bug to opera, and may rethink my layout. annoying, though...

Oh, the problem is in 7.6p1. I thought you were referring to the actual program freezing, not just the website.

Must be bug in redrawing. If you try to close tab with that page and then minimize opera then tab closes without problems while minimized.
