    Welcome to the Community, Claudette!

I think you may want to post in the Server-Side Languages ---> PHP forum for a better response. I'm an ASP man myself, so I wouldn't know how to install.

While I'm at it, if you're on a Windows 98 Machine, why not install Personal Web Server (free from microsoft), and try ASP? You may learn to like it. No? oh well.

    Good luck with your question!

claudette, are you going to be installing it onto your Windows 98 PC?
Or do u have another computer that you are building to be a server?

Or are you trying to learn how to use the PHP/mySQL combo on your hosts server?

    Hi,

This is probably the easiest one of all. You just have to unzip a preconfigured mysql/apache/php package and it is ready to go:

    http://www.firepages.com.au/devindex.htm?from=dev3

Or, if you decide to install the pieces of mysql/apache/php yourself, then here is a step by step tutorial on installing for win98 which is very good:

    http://212.223.75.38/workshops/

I think these are your two best options.

For a pretty brief set of instructions, try here:

see the getting started section - it can be completed in a couple of minutes, start to finish.
