    text "outside" div

    Hi,

    I made a search here for my problem (and have seen many things related to background-repeat and valuable tips) but nothing so specific. So, if you look here, you will see my problem:

    http://www.geocities.com/marcanth200...ackground.html

    There are 3 divs. One container (that wraps the other two nested divs), one content and a nav. So, the image stops repeating I don't know why and should keep repeating until the text finishes.

    What could possibly be wrong? I would like to continue using this background-repeat (image) method but the columns have to be "equal" no matter how much text is inside.

    Oh, by the way, this is how I see it in Mozilla Firefox and in IE 6.0 it is even worst... the text on content div just stops suddenly....

    Sorry for my bad English!

    Thanks,
    Andre

    Not sure why you're using an image here. What's wrong with this?

    Code:
    .container {
    	position-relative;
    	background: #fff
    top left;
    }

    .content {
    	width: 500px;
                 height: 100%;
    	float: left;
                 background: #f00;
    }

    .nav {
    	position: relative;
    	width: 200px;
                 height: 100%;
    	margin: 0 0 0 500px;
                 background: #0f0;
    }

    p {
    	padding: 5px;
    }

    Hi,

    you're declaring the page as XHTML strict, but the validator is throwing quite a few errors... maybe there's your problem?

    Hi Greg Harvey,

    Thanks for the code. Well, it is almost perfect, but IE 6.0 (well, at least here) shows a small gap between the columns. Don't know how to fix this...

    Mudshark,

    Indeed, I checked my code and there was an error where I forgot to close a paragraph. I already updated the html file (validated as XHTML Strict) but now any non-validating code is because the way geocities adds their banners... with no valid code. Thanks for your advice. Anyway... the problem still remains...
