Photo Galleries

Heres the deal:

I need to be able to create galleries which can incorporate a CSS design I have. Yes that parts easy. But I also need to be able to add hundreds of pictures quickly. So far not so bad, but heres where it gets tricky... I'd prefer to have it use Databases ( i know this is php based, but just very loosely, so bare with me) so I can have like top 3 pictures of the week section on my home page. If you have any ideas let me know, I have tried things like Gallery and other similiar scripts, but am having trouble with those. Any alternative or better ideas?

What sort of troubles are you having btw ?

With the design layout, or the actual Gallery library and/or database ?
