Arrow Do you listen to music while you program, design, etc?

I was just wondering what other webmasters do. I listen to music whenever I am on the computer...especially Linkin Park. Oh and by the way, if you are a big LP fan, then PM me and I have something special for you

    Ohh man, do I ever.

I listen to all sorts of stuff. Alkaline Trio, Brand New, The Aquabats, Dilinger Escape Plan, From Autumn to Ashes, Norma Jean, The Hope Conspiracy, and some video game tunes.
Sing in a band called Psychostick, Alfredo Afro.

Cool cool. I think I have gotten to the point now that I can't really program as well without some music...haha!

I'm listening to a Beethoven sonata for piano and violin right now while programming. I'm almost always listening to either classical music or Phish.

I watch movies on the DVD player, aka iMac. Then if I won't be on long enough for another movie, I listen to music.

I'm guessing your just watching the movie and not working on anything at the same time? Haha, because if you did both at the same time then you have got some nice skill right there

Nope, I do both! Real easy to do!!! Until it registered in my tiny brain that I could watch DVDs on the computer, I never watched movies! Now I'm addicted to DVDs. I don't even watch TV!!

No, I don't listen to music. I find it distracting and overriding. Would much rather listen to the news or talk radio in the background.

I also don't watch movies on my computer. I have a large television with 500 watts of speakers for that.

I agree - I'd love to listen to talk radio, especially. Unfortunately, at work I can't listen to talk radio OR music, because it distracts my co-workers. At home I prefer to have the tv on in the background with Fox News, ESPN, the Golf channel or The Weather Channel on.

Well I don't know how any of them can watch a movie and work at the same time, I wouldn't be able to concentrate.

Always have music on, no matter what im doing as soon as i sit in this chair i have music on it just helps me concentrate. I also watch movies while working hehe if its an incredibly interesting movie then you might lose interest but generally you can just listen to it and if you hear somethign interesting then you just give it a glance.
I think it would depend on the position of your computer from the tv seeing as the tv is on the side of me i have kinda of tilt myself to watch it.
Also since having dual monitors i tend to spectate games while coding hehe.

Bands on the playlist would include:
Arch enemy, cannibal corpse, bloodbath, pantera, fear factory, lamb of god, prodigy, paul oakenfold, dry kill logic, deftones... along with a heap more.

I don't know if anybody else find this true but when i listen to a nice fast tune e.g Pantera - Suicide Note pt2 i will actually work faster as apposed to if i listen to a mellow song ill just work at a normal pace...it's strange but hey im not complaining

Coding for me is more like a party [what a nerdy statement]. When planning out my work, I prefer everything to be quiet.

When doing the actual work, my TV is on. If not, I play some music.
