    We are looking to start sending out HTML newsletters, but just need a few pointers as to how to go about creating one that can be read in both HTML compliant email clents and non htlm compliant software.

    I have recieved newsletters before that when viewed in Outlook, display as HTML, but when I view the same newsletter in a text only email client, the email displays the newsletter in text format with no HTML.

    How do you do that?

    Here is a function to send HTML and text e-mail that works with both:

    PHP Code:
    function send_html_email($FromAddress$FromName$ToAddress$ToName$Subject$TextBody$HtmlBody)
    {

    $body="\r\ng--c0p4Jq0M2Yt08j34c0pContent-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed\r\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit\r\n\r\n$TextBody\r\n\r\n--gc0p4Jq0M2Yt08j34c0p\r\nContent-Type: text/html; charset=\"iso-8859-1\"\r\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit\r\n\r\n$HtmlBody\r\n"

    mail("$ToName<$ToAddress>","$Subject",$body,"Mime-Version: 1.0\r\nFrom: $FromName<$FromAddress>\r\nReply-To: $FromName<$FromAddress>\r\nContent-Type: multipart/alternative;\r\n boundary=gc0p4Jq0M2Yt08j34c0p\r\n");

    Hi Joel,

    I asked our techies, how we send our newsletters, and this is what they had to say:

    "We use Gammedyne mailer to send our newsletters out. We prepare an HTML email and a text email. The software is so clever that it only delivers the format that the mail client can read, or it's the other way round and the mail client only take the format that it wants to read."

    Hope this helps,

    And where can I get that software?

    Ideally, I would like to know the exact way of doing it myself. ei. what text, mime types, etc to enter.
