start up item

If there is in the startup an item listed as MSCRON.exe and labeled as Microsoft cronD service, is this something that should be removed from startup and if it should be removed how to remove it (win 98 se)?

Never heard of it and google finds nothing so I would be supicious of it. I would imagine 98 startup is something similiar in the registry:

SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can also run msconfig in the run prompt. Then move to the startup tab to see what is listed there.
