    Jump to top of page!

    Hi All,

    First off please let me tell you that I am a novice when it comes to Jscript so go easy on me!!!!!

    Anyway got a slight ploblem with a site framework design, I have published an example of the problem.

    http://www.therockscene.co.uk/framework/index.html

    This page is simple an Iframe page that contains a normal framed page.

    The IFrame scroll bar controls the srolling for the whole thing.

    If you go down the page using the scroll bar you will see LINK in the navigation bar, click this link and a new page is opened in the main frame. Unfortunaly the whole thing stays at the bottom or where you srolled it to.

    I need the whole thing to jump back to the top when the link is clicked.

    More File Info:

    http://www.therockscene.co.uk/framework/index2.html (Framework Page)

    http://www.therockscene.co.uk/framework/left.html (Navigation Bar)

    http://www.therockscene.co.uk/framework/link_page.htmL (The Page The Link Goes To)

    http://www.therockscene.co.uk/framework/main.html (The Initial page in the main frame)

    http://www.therockscene.co.uk/framework/top.html (The Top Frame)

    The code in the navigation bar page is not mine, it is code I have been testing out (sourced from the net). It contains a Jscript that was supposed to make it work.

    Is does not, any Ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi hullghost, Welcome to SitePoint Forums!

    First let me say that I really appreciate you providing such good info, links and a test page to make it easier for someone to help you (if only more people would do this )

    I'm testing with Opera 7.51 and IE 6.0 on Win2K. It does go to the top for me. But I see a couple of other issues.

    (1) In the content frame of index3.html you have the following...

    <body onmousedown="return false();">

    ... delete the parentheses - "false" is not a function. So...

    <body onmousedown="return false">

    ...altho I don't know why you would want to do that

    (2) My scroll-wheel doesn't work in IE, perhaps because you have the iframe's 'scrolling' attribute set to 'no'.

    What browser are you testing with?
