    Weird gap on visited links

    Click a few links on the left...
    http://www.logooutpost.com/index.php

    After you've been to a few pages there is a gap between the links that have been visited and not visited. I did not write the style sheet and have never come across this problem.

    Can anyone see any reason for this?
    Code:
    .CategoriesBox {
      background: #4443C0;
    }
    .CategoriesBoxHeading, .CategoriesBoxHeading A, .CategoriesBoxHeading A:link, .CategoriesBoxHeading A:visited, .CategoriesBoxHeading a:hover {
      font-family: "trebuchet ms", helvetica;
      font-weight: bold;
      font-size: 12px;
      color: #ffffff;
      background: url(images/header.gif) fixed no-repeat;
    }
    .CategoriesBoxHeading A:hover {
      font-family: "trebuchet ms", helvetica;
      font-weight: bold;
      font-size: 12px;
      color: #ffffff;
      text-decoration: underline;
    }
    .CategoriesBoxContents, .CategoriesBoxContents a:link,.CategoriesBoxContents a:active, .CategoriesBoxContents a:visited  {
      background: #f5f5f5;
      font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
      font-size: 10px;
      color: #363C8A;
    }
    .CategoriesBoxContents A:hover {
      background: #f5f5f5;
      font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
      font-size: 10px;
      color: #363C8A;
      text-decoration: underline;
    }

    Hey Palmer,
    Just a quick guess to try to help, as I'm heading out the door--but I think it's because the once the text is bolded it creates a little more space around the text? I'd try to unbold the selected menu items to see if that changes anything.

    Try putting the class="CategoriesBoxContents" within one of your <a> tags.

    If that doesn't work I'm sure Paul O'B will have it figured out for you in a jiff...

    I figured it out. Serves me right for not writing my own stylesheet. For some reason the programmer had this gem in the stylesheet (note the line-height attribute)...

    TD.main, P.main, a:visited{
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 11px;
    line-height: 1.5;
    }

    Ah, that's strange. Why would someone want the line height to change for visited links? Glad you caught it cause I was pretty much stumped.

    *shrug* Has anyone ever used oscommerce? Maybe it's part of the default style sheet. I've never seen it for a just a visited link though. Very odd

    I'm wondering whether that visited link was supposed to be more specific, not for all links and they just forgot

    I was curious about this, so I went to the osCommerce site and visited a few of their live shop examples. Found a variation of this (the variation being the font size):

    TD.main, P.main {
    font-family: Arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 14px;
    line-height: 1.5;
    }

    at the few I looked at. Seems like someone added the A:visited to your sheet. Very odd indeed!
