    Overlay problem..

    My content section overlays onto my footer, I want it to, once filled up, to push the footer down.
    http://www.shockedstyle.com/ss/ is the site,

    http://www.shockedstyle.com/ss/style.css is the CSS.

    What can I do?

    I assume you mean fixed the link and not the page as it is not displaying correctly in firefox.

    You have specified heights for a number of elements therefore how can you expect them to get bigger?

    Ie will accomodate you because its stupid but good browsers will do exactly what you say and make the element then height you stated. Therefore you need to give those elements a min-height and give ie height. These are hidden from each other as follows.

    Code:
    div.bg {
    	 width: 730px;
    	 min-height: 100%;
      background-image: url(http://www.shockedstyle.com/ss/img/bg.gif);
      background-repeat: repeat-y;
      padding-top: 30px;
    	 padding-left: 20px;
    }
    * html div.bg {height:100%}
    div.main {
    	 min-height: 600px;
      width: 660px;
      padding-top: 30px;
    	 background-color: #FFFFFF;
    	 http://www.shockedstyle.com/ss/
    }
    * html div.main {height:600px}
    div.content {
    	 min-height: 600px;
      width: 400px;
    	 float: left;
      padding-bottom: 20px;
    }
    * html div.content {height:600px}

    div.footer {   clear:both;}
    You also needed to clear the floats in the footer.

    Okay, first of all, big thank you Paul.

    Second, I tried what you asked and I'm getting the same problem...

    http://www.clannx.com/ss/

    Had to upload to another server since mine appears to be down. Probably because of a hefty argument with the owner.

    HELP!

    one last change
    Code:
    div.content {
    min-height: 600px;
    width: 400px;
    float: left;
    padding-bottom: 20px;
    }

    You're welcome

    Just remember that mozilla will more often than not do exactly what you tell it and ie will do what it likes
