    Button Styles & Safari

    Hi -
Why does Safari completely mangle / ignore
css styles for input buttons? In fact, on this
example [attatched] they looked silver and
rounded to boot with black text! - on a Mac.

Any options to work around this?
    Thanks in advance,
    El

No there isn't a work around for it. In fact I think it should be the same with every browser. You can still specify font-options for safari form elements as well as widths and heights, which is more then enough. A form is a way of communication, not a piece of design itself.

I have recently stopped styling all my forms.

I think that little detail in Safari is annoying. I understand why it is that way (Apples visual guidelines), but the image button functionality is very useful when your design contains flash applications which doesn't have standard control, which results in that buttons are inconsistent in your interface.

    Good point.

Just want to add that it's not just Safari that ignores input/button backgrounds and borders. I just had a look in Opera and IE 5.2, and they both also default to the mac interface.

    Buttons2

    Hi -
Thanks for letting me know that it just won't 'go'.

I'm a late beginner to web design and do a lot of 'test sites'
just for fun - this was for a Horror Movie Fan layout...each is only
to test different design aspects that I've not tried yet, so - thus,
    the goofy form...

Um, not that it matters. ;-)
