    Hello,

I thought to start this thread. I want all of you out there to share how did you promoted your website. so that it can help out others to promote their website..

    Lemme be the first.
I used Web Position Gold Professional Edition for promoting my website but never got enough hits. I only get less than 50 hits on my website of CineWebs.com and that is because I am listed on hosting directories..

    What about you???

You really need instigate a number of marketing strategies. We've found the most successful one have been:

    1. Affiliates
    2. Search Engine Promotion
    3. Syndication of content
    4. Newsletter
    5. Community building

    Hope this helps.

I have another thought: there was a nice discussion somewhere here about traffic and tageted traffic.
You should read it mayb and focus on the targeted traffic.

One way of doing that is by exchanging links between sites with the same content (more or less).

I mean getting your content/articles submitted to syndication networks like:

    www.isydicate.com
    www.moreover.com
    www.contentville.com

They distribute your content to subscribers in exchange for linking back to your site. The more frequently you distribute the more links they are placing on your behalf.

The success of this type of marketing depends on the quality of your content and the industry your in.

Only if you're a 12-year-old geek running a Geocities homepage. Topsites are not only unprofessional, but are generally a waste of time and don't provide *any* results. Do you see any real legit, known web sites participating in them? No, because most of them get more traffic than the topsites page does in the first place.
