Generic question: do any of these upset spiders?

More specifically: Does Flash/Swish upset them if I simply put a logo in?

Javascript- is it the 'Language ="Javascript" bit that puts them off - they run a mile as soon as they see it? Or is it that they get a little way in, suss out how dynamic the page is, and then make a decision ?

I want to use H1 etc. tags to boost rating, probably using CSS - would that cause any problems ?

Perhaps I should rephrase this question.

I have a very basic knowledge of HTML, but none at all of either Flash/Swish or Javascript.

If I put a Swish log on the page will it 'confuse' search engine spiders?

If I put something like an on/off animation using Javascript, could I perhaps put the Javascript code towards the bottom of the page so that all the links, text etc. is read first - or doesn't it matter? Is it only for dynamically generated content that can cause infinite variables that I have to worry ?

Can spiders cope with CSS as easily as HTML, or is it preferable to use simple HTML - for example, for all my headers?

Any help on any of the above appreciated.

I never use Flash/Swish so can't comment on that other than I'd be wary of it.

Put Javascript and style sheets off page and then refer to them so the spiders don't see them. Using Styles to control text works fine.
