What do you mean?

- Using Google as default PERSONAL SE? (in this case: yes)
- Using Google Search as default website SE? (no and yes. I will add it as a additional option: "Power Search")

Same here. Besides getting good results, I think users really trust Google to load quickly without cluttering the screen with ads or links to unwanted stuff.

for lack of a better homepage, I have set google as my homepage.

I'm using mozilla and the Google searchbox at the top right hand corner is my default 'search engine'. I very rarely use the default homepage to search, hehehe

It's mine default too. My personal opinion is that more techies use it, while the business people, non-tech are more towards Yahoo.

What can I say, Google has the best search engine.

i think it is safe to say nearly everyone uses google for searching. google has grown so much in the past few years, even those who aren't very technically savvy know of google.
