Just curious... what kind of ad manager script do you use on your site? I found a lot of them on hotscripts.com and cgi-resources.com but I want to pick an industry standard to build trust between me and my advertisers.

    I use AdvertPRO @ www.advertpro.com
Costs $600+, but you get what you pay for eh?
Professional advertising software simply does the job better than the free stuff, and offers more features to advertisers.

    Have a great day,

I use the freeware version of AdCycle on most of my sites, and have been very pleased with its performance thus far.

It is loaded with all of the tracking, reporting and targeting features that you could ever need, and is fast and relatively svelte.

As Mike noted above, though, it doesn't stack up against most of the robust commercial packages in terms of scalability and power. Still, it beats most of the sub-$500 packages that I've investigated, and it doesn't cost a dime!

We use DART, its more expensive but it offers thrid party auditing, which we've found gives our advertisers more confidence in our reporting.

Point well taken James, advertisers find that very important indeed...

BTW, http://www.webhostdir.com/ comes up with an 500 internal error right now - you might wanna check that

    Have a great day,

JamesCross: Great sites you have there. I have a question for you though. I own a couple of sites that I find very promising, and was looking into going with DART ad serving and managment solution. I wasn't able to find any pricing available can you give me a rough estimate of what your fees are for this service. If not through the board, please email me directly . Thanks

    Mike

We're a UK company so I'll quote in 's. We compared US and UK pricing and there was no difference, other than currency fluctuations.

You pay a monthy minimum of 1500. Regardless of the level of ads your require them to serve. After that you pay 0.80 per thousand ads served. The price goes down as your reach higher ad delivery levels. Over 3 Million impressons per month it falls below 0.80. I havent got that far so it doesnt really effect us yet :-)

We've been a customer of theirs since August so I've got quite a bit of experience in the service they offer. Any more questions just let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply James, really appreciate it.

I have never used the DART service, but what exactly can you benefit from it. For example in your sites, do many advertisers actually target users? and in what ways?

I use OrbitCycle.com. It's remotely hosted, yes, but I didn't want to have to go the trouble of finding and setting up a locally hosted one. That's on my Extended To-Do List for this summer.

One of our media kits has quite a bit of DART info, take a look at:

    http://www.hostspeople.com/mediakit/...it_adserve.asp
    http://www.hostspeople.com/mediakit/...t_campaign.asp

BTW: this isnt a plug for advertising on our site, it takes you through to a DART info page and a DART technology page.
