    Problems with IE

I am currently creating a new design for our group's website.

A beta can be seen at
    http://www.dvs1.informatik.tu-darmst...new/index.html

With Mozilla 1.7 and Opera 6.5 it looks pretty much as it should, except some minor problems when the window gets too small.

But in IE it doesn't work at all, the size of the content box seems to big, so that the overflowing text isn't handled correctly.
I can set the height of the content div, but it only works for a certain window size, making the window smaller brings up the problem again.

I am glad for any suggestions, this is my first try with CSS and web design in general...

    Hi,

You can't set the size of an element in ie by setting the top right left and bottom positions unfortunately.

You can set the postion with top and left but then you have to give it a height and width I'm afraid.

This makes it almost impossible to make an element stay some specified distance from the bottom of the browsers window without a lot of hacking.

This was the answer to a test I set:

    from this thread:

As you can see its really convulted so you'd be better off just using a normal height but feel free to borrow the code if you wish.

    Paul
