What is the typical rate for a 4 page e commerce site?

I am thinking $40-$90 per hour.

    Does that sound about right?

Most of the designers I know will quote you a flat price for the work. If you keep the requests with in reason they usually don't charge more.

    What is that flat price?

Does $200 to $500 sound about right?

Eight...in all seriousness, that price range sounds low for that amount of work. Keep in mind that not only will you have to design the site, but you will have also have to take the time to implement the e-commerce portion. You could almost charge that rate JUST for the e-commerce section.

It really depends on their experience and if this is their full time job or not. I only charge $10 an hour but I'm also a student with hardly any experience. I could do the job but it would take me longer and probably not be quite as good!

i'm a 15 year old kid, and my websites just aren't all that impressive. My neighborhood said they would pay me $2000 to register, create, and maintain a simple website for them, plus another $500 per year to maintain it. I think they are overpaying, but my new laptop says otherwise

they haven't actually accepted yet. They said they want to do it, but some of the committee members are still against spending money on a website. Also, a lot of that money is for buying software and a hosting service.
