I think you will find that some internet users are moving over to Mozilla or it's children (firefox, thunderbird, etc) for security reasons (worms, viruses, spyware, etc). I've noticed articles in the general press advocating the move to mozilla on these grounds.

I am not sure if this is useful but in an article i have just read it lists the following stats for a very large sampling of sites. The study was done by a comapny/website called websidestory. They apparently do tracking for thousands of websites. There stats put IE at about 95% and a combined market for Netscape and Mozilla at 4.05%.
