odd things with XP Home

I just built a friend of mine a new computer. However I am having a hell of a time with it since it randomly reboots (from system errors (BSOD)) I am really not sure what the problem is. I am really suprised that I am having this problem since i have 4 (built them myself) computers running XP and have never had any problems like this.

here are the specs
-----------------
400watt antec power supply
1 dvd rom drive
1 CD Burner Drive
1 Floppy Drive
2 Hard drives (one 6gb and one 40 gb)
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X-X
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 3200 (400fsb)
Video Card: Geforce 4 MX 420 (He cant afford a new one)
OS: Windows XP Home
Memory: 1 Corsair 512mb (400mhz)

I ask him to go into the event viewer and email me a copy of all warnings and errors in the logs. Here is what he sent me. If anyone can spot a potential cause please let me know

things I have done to try to remedy the problem

Installed latest nForce Drivers
Installed latest Nvidia Display Drivers
ran chkdsk
defragmented drives
ran antivirus scan
ran memtest 86
no bad reports in device manager

none of them have made any progress

i've heard of this problem relating to incompatible memory with the mobo youre using. Have you checked this out. It wont show in memtest. Let me know. No boot sector viruses huh? How often has this machine been online?

the machine is brand new, i just built it. i put a firewall on it as well, so i think we are ok for now

have you made all the BIOS checks relevant to the memory used, and have you checked (double checked) that its seated correctly?

I second thatITguy's recommendations... sounds like faulty, incompatible, or improperly seated memory.

hmm sorry i did not make myself clearer. In your first post, you suggested that it may have a virus and i meant to say that I do not think that is the problem since I have a firewall and virus scanner running on the system
