You cannot hide the hitbox stats program unless you are using the HixBox Pro or HitBox Enterprise version.

Go to http://get.hitbox.com/cgi-bin/getit.cgi?hb&hb_intro and check out half way down the page.

Do I have to display the HitBox button?
No. You may use our pay service (HitBox Pro) and your HitBox counter will be invisible. Pricing starts at $19.95/month.

You can hide it with an invisible layer....but that is wrong. If you want to use their service without paying, and least give them a little coverage.

I have made SiteMeter and WebTrendsLive invisible, but HitBox is much more difficult to make invisible, unfortunately, and as cckrocks said, it is also unethical.

It is also illegal, as signing up (even for free) requires you to agree to their terms and conditions.

If you hide it illegally, you really shouldn'y be talking about it at sitepointforums - they don't give out (or tolerate) illegal tips like that.

Just my two cents.

Here's a tip: stats4all.com has free entire site tracking (not quite as good as hitbox) and they only require a very small icon that doesn't have any text on it and blends in well with your site.

Same with extreme tracking...they only have a small graphic, without any text.

If your with a paid host they should have some sort of stats package. If they didn't give you one, ask them if you can get one.

If your with a free host and plan on using the likes of hitbox it's only fair to show their icon on your site.
