    tables :(

I have a template to make, and ive been told not to use css for the layout, which is a bit of a pain in the whatsit.

He wants the content to be laid out like this

I have tried a couple of ways using tables to try and get the rounded corner effect, but i cant seem to get it quite right, anyone have any ideas?

Tables for this would be preferred method. Rounded cornered designs is not something that I believe is necessarily easy to accomplish. I have done one and looks nice but it requires about an hour work with graphics and layout. What suggestions are you looking for? Tables really is the best way to go. Maybe if you post some code, I or someone else can give you some pointers, other than that, I'm lost for suggestions.

Yeah. The general rule with rounded corners is you need to seperate them into their structural components: the top of the box, and the bottom of the box, and then seperate each of those into the two sides, left and right. From there, give each one a cell, or a span if you're using XHTML, and then you can just style things enough (or stick images in the cells if you're using tables) to get the effect you want.
