    Stealthy FunkGlueSurf.exe

I just saw, for a brief second, 'FunkGlueSurf.exe' show up in the list of processes of a Win XP Pro machine infected with adware. iexplore.exe keeps restarting. A Google search returns absolutely nothing! Spybot does not see it. Neither does Norton. All Windows updates are done and service pack 2 is installed.

Reboot in Safe Mode. Search for FunkGlueSurf.exe and Delete it.

Then open regedit.exe Under HKEY>USERS and ALL, goto Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Run

And delete unnecessary start-up programs. Obviously search for FunkGlueSurf.exe

    Then Reboot. Good Luck.

Ad-Aware now has an update for it. Had the same problem.

'FunkGlueSurf.exe' is one of many names it uses (As far as I can remember)

I found FunkGlueSurf in folder dale sect 1. There were nine other programs with it that I was able to remove. However, I encountered "Access Denied", even though I owned the process and had full rights.

Removing the other programs removed the associated 'toolbar' inside Internet Explorer. However, there is still an extra instance of Internet Explorer with a blue background open at the bottom of the desktop that I can remove by killing a process in task manager.

Way too much time wasted by these guys,
    Mike
