Question Local PHP testing without Apache / IIS

    Hi,

I've been looking around for some software for local PHP testing. Servers don't like me and vice versa so I started looking for some software to display PHP on a local machine without having to install Apache or IIS.

I've heard this kind of application exists. Any ideas? Pro's and cons on local testing maybe?

    Thanks

Before I started using apache (although I don't really know how to use/abuse it) I used to use a program called badBlue PHP server.

Currently I use IIS on WinXP Pro, though I have just now come across this

    http://hixus.com/install/aweris-and-...ysql-setup.exe

Basically its a setup 'wrapper' for installing MySQL, Apache, PHP and Perl within an WinXP environment

Downloading it just now for the use of Perl alone, as I already have PHP all set up locally.

Might move this to my other OS, for the installation of this download some time soon. If your interested in knowing how I get on, I can PM you ?

I took a look at all your suggestions and they all have their advantages. It looks like the badblue thing is the most suitable for now.

Thanks so much for the good leads. Feel free to PM/reply your findings and or suggestions.
