I have an image area where I want to have an animated jpeg. I have gifbuilder but there are some really fine details on these photos and gifbuilder gave me a lot of banding in areas.

Is there a cheap or free program where I can animate a jpeg? If not, what are my best options here?

I'd like to loop the image, add a dissolve, etc.

Thanks to all for any help.

12thManJeff, unfortunatly you cant animate jpeg's. you would have to save the file as gif for an animation.
this also means that you could only have a pallete of 256 colors (which you can pick yourself). but 256 isnt much and the quality will depend a lot on the size and details.

I see. Not good news for me.

Are there any options here when an animated gif doesn't give enough detail?

I'm working on a mac in GoLive 4.0.

    Thanks!

Ahhh... I downloaded Flash for the 30-day trial period. Nice features but can't seem to find a way to dissolve between frames.

    Any ideas?
