    Hi,

    Here's the deal...

I'm developing a corporate intranet and it has been requested that some of the apps used in the office be launched from the web. This is to provide a single point of access for all the activites that users may undertake.

The applications, and all associated files will be on the client-side machines.

Can an application be launched directly fom a browser?

I seem to remember seeing something similar on a magazine cover disk to launch product demo installers without bringing up the "save as/open from current location". It may have been done using js, but I don't have the mag or disk any more to look.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Matt

I believe this can only be done through ActiveX or Java, but I'm not really sure, having never done it before.

    cheers. Scot-Bot.

If you can use VBScript, you may be able to use the "Shell()" function to do just this.

    Post back if you can.
