XML characters ?

Please can some one expain this to me and also a solution ?

my XML doc is as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<root>
<work>
<thumbnail>concept_thumb.jpg</thumbnail>
<mainimage>concept.jpg</mainimage>
<info>Context images - are used in project concept generation' and development influencing; etc</info>
</work>
</root>

Im having problem with displaying the characters you see above. When i view the branch in explorer the symbol which i have noticed to be - just displays as a sqaure symbol –

Where the problem lie ? can some one please explain ?

Strange...

Just solved it. All I did was went over that character with the same - charcter again and it worked. Very strange but
