justified or not?

well i tend to use

style="text-align: justify"

qhite a lot for pages with text. its only desplayed with ie and doesnt give out any erros with nn.

but recently i've noticed that hardly anyone use justified text, why?

Because it is really a pain in the eye to read. I can't think any other reason.

It fits fine for printed text and such, but try to read it online and you'll be having hard time to focus on the text.

... And if you try and justify text you'll occasionally get lines that look really, really stretched out with spaces in the middle, which is really hard to read and doesn't look good on screens.

I used to justify parts of my main page, but I stopped doing it a while ago because of that exact reason.

I think it depends on the site. I've used it on some sites in a fixed table and it looks better then left-aligned.

IMHO, I think text size, font, color, type, and background play a larger part in readibility.

well i've already been convinced and changed them!

Well, now it sounds like I have some work to do. Well, maybe not. I'll just change the text-align in the CSS from 'justify' to 'left', 'til I get industrious enough to take out the class calls in the justified paragraphs. Lazy me.
