Slow load

I've got a website that uses oscommerce and have been having some slow loading issues on a few products. I've played with removing the flash, changing gzip compression, removing infoboxes..yet none speeds up the load.

There are two products in particular that are very slow..and I can't find any common denominators there:

The header loads up quickly..the rest of the page..zzzzzzzz

Could just be a simple issue of your server not being fast enough. It your on a shared hosting enviorment it could be other users hogging up all the proc. resources. If your dedicated you might need to upgrade your hardware.

If you're using MySQL (or other databases), remember to open the connection only ONCE. What I mean is that do not open the connection & close it in every function, just open it somewhere. Once. (I don't think this is how you've done it but you never know )
