    I am attempting to create a link that points to a particular frame in a new window. The new winow is divided into upper and lower frames. I am trying to link to specific anchors located in the this lower frame.

    If you click here, you will see the new window I am describing.

    So far, on the main page that contains the links, I have:
    Code:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    <!--
    //Start Open Window Code Here
    function openWin(URL) {
    aWindow=window.open(URL,"help","toolbar=no,width=300,height=400,status=no,scrollbars=yes,resize=no,menubar=no");
    }
    //-->
    </script>
    And I am using this with my links:
    Code:
    <A HREF="javascript:openWin('http://www.anesthesiaforums.com/help.htm#?email');">
    In the lower frame of the new window, I have this code within my body tag:
    Code:
    onload="self.location='#'+top.location.search.substring(1)"
    and ofcourse, the anchor tags:
    Code:
    <a name="email"></a>
    The script works somewhat. When you click, a new winow does display, however, the anchor I specified does not display at the very top.

    Thanks for your help
    -Hideki

    I guess, I'm not sure what you are asking.
    If you click here you will see how the page is divided into a top and bottom using frames. The bottom half contains all of the contect and is scrollable, while the top half is merely a header with no scrollbar.

    Please clarify and I'll try.
    Thanks :)

    Code fragment from help_bottom.htm
    Code:
            <tr>
              <td bgcolor="#5F8FB0"><b><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="2" color="#EBF1F7">Email:
                </font></b><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="1" color="#EBF1F7">(required)</font></td>
            </tr>
            <tr>
              <td bgcolor="#EBF1F7">
                <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">This
                  is the email address that will be associated with your account.
                  It will be used to send you notifications, to aid in the replacement
                  of lost passwords, and to be contacted by the administrator if he/she
                  so desires. An active email address is required to complete the
                  registration process.</font></p>
                <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">You
                  can make this address private by simply not checking the &quot;Allow
                  other users to view my email address&quot;.</font></p>
                <p>&nbsp;</p>
              </td>
            </tr>
    There are no named anchor tags in your code...

    you need to add them thus:

    Code:
            <tr>
              <td bgcolor="#5F8FB0"><b><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="2" color="#EBF1F7"><a name="email"></a>Email:
                </font></b><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="1" color="#EBF1F7">(required)</font></td>
            </tr>
            <tr>
              <td bgcolor="#EBF1F7">
                <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">This
                  is the email address that will be associated with your account.
                  It will be used to send you notifications, to aid in the replacement
                  of lost passwords, and to be contacted by the administrator if he/she
                  so desires. An active email address is required to complete the
                  registration process.</font></p>
                <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">You
                  can make this address private by simply not checking the &quot;Allow
                  other users to view my email address&quot;.</font></p>
                <p>&nbsp;</p>
              </td>
            </tr>

    Geesh, do I feel stupid. I forgot to upload the file I was working on. Man, two days of stress and wondering for nothing. Oh well. Still, I probably wouldn't have figured it out any time soon without your help.
    Thanks Drinky, everything works great now.
