    question about html ?!

this is a really dumb question... but i'm not an expert in html and web programming
i'm just wondering if someone can help me out with this simple question

instead of plain page1.html, page2.html ..... i'm just wondering how do u make page1.shtml?Page=page1 ..does that require some sort of database or just plain hand coded the codes?

    Hello

I am no expert on secure web pages, but that is what shtml is all about The rest is some sort of server side code such as .php. Yes you do have to have a database to run all this as well as some ssl encryption or some stuff like that. It is all beyond me so to speak.

Hope this answered your question though

.shtml - is html that has SSI (server side includes) commands in it. It is given an SHTML extension so the web server knows it needs to be checked for includes.

?page=page1.html - This is the querystring - it allows the value 'page' to be used in some sort of server site language.

If you are trying to dynamically choose which page to include into another, you will need a server side language on the web server, php/asp/servlets/ssi/jsp and so on.

You cannot do this alone with just SSI. And there is no need for a database.

If you need anymore help, let know.
