How do you all create colour schemes? Do you come up with them yourselves or find them on other sites? Are there any good websites with lots of different schemes and descriptions of each one, this is what I need!

    Hey Michael,

Try the Color Schemer at: http://www.godigitalstudios.com/www/color
Also a software version at: http://www.colorschemer.com

    Hope that helps!

Basically I point my broswer to coolhomepages.com and check out the section of "cool" color schemes.

    michael,

    Try the following:

    http://www.eyewire.com/magazine/features/color/

In the theory section they've got a pdf of colours that work together. It's a reasonable starting point.

I'd also second hanja on checking out coolhomepages.

The best way I've found is to just play with different colours until you find a combination that you like.........and then check it with a few friends to see if they agree that it looks ok.

Other people's opinions don't really matter if it's just a personal site, coz that's just what it is - personal, but if you're advertising a product or a business, then you have to create something that's not going to put people off!
