Changing datatype in a msaccess query?

    Hi,
Is there a way to change the datatype of a column in a query? for example I want to get a text value out of a database and put it in the recordset as a date? This is in vba/msaccess.

    Thanks.

Easiest way is to write a VBA function that converts the text date to real date (I suspect there is one about). Then add a column, do and update query to the table in question and set the new field to equal the function results.
