Depends on what you mean - I'm 16 years old, but I've been around these forums for quite awhile. Anyway, I look forward to some more riddles!

OK, I will steal your turn then!

A "Wise King" devised a contest to see who would receive the Princess hand in marriage.

The Princess was put in a 50x50 foot carpeted room. Each of her four suitors were put in one corner of the room with a small box to stand on. The first one to touch the Princess hand would be the winner and become the new King.

The rules of the test were that the contestants could not walk over the carpet, cross the plane of the carpet, or hang from anything; nor could they use anything but their body and wits (i.e. no magic or telepathy, nor any items such as ladders, block and tackles etc).

One suitor figured out a way and married the Princess and became the new King. How did he figure it out?

I've been on ICQ a bit lately. If you have AIM, you can find me under "WarningTrack" - I'm on AIM quite a bit. Aside from that, a PM or email should do the trick.

That's the answer? Ugh, that was sickingly easy. Sorry, though, I have to pass again for now.

    OK Ok, if I must!

Four men sat down to play,
They played all night ‘till break of day.
They played for gold and not for fun
    With separate scores for everyone.
When they came to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair amounts.
    Can you the paradox explain,
If no one lost, how could all gain?

    What about the S-shaped sprinkler?
Although, thinking about it, there are only three possible answers, it moves forward, it moves backward, it doesn't move, so perhaps more open-ended riddles are in order? I'm interested to know what it does, though.

I honestly don't know! It was a thought-exercise by Richard Fennyman who didn't provide an answer as far as I can tell (searches TELL about the riddle but don't provide the answer). It's in one of his books so maybe you have to buy it to get the answer.

I would guess that the suction from the water entering (you'd have to create some sort of vacuum to bring the water in) would draw the sprinkler "to" the water in a reverse motion than "normal" operation.

But like it was said, if it's at the bottom of the ocean the tremendous pressure would cause the sprinkler to be crushed, so it wouldn't do much spinning at that point.

No...its my turn. Heres my riddle...

This is a most unusual paragraph. How quickly can you find out what is so unusual about it? It looks so ordinary you'd think nothing was wrong with it - and in fact, nothing is wrong with it. It is unusual though. Why? Study it, think about it, and you may find out. Try to do it without coaching. If you work at it for a bit it will dawn on you. So jump to it and try your skill at figuring it out. Good luck - don't blow your cool!

Hm....the unusual thing about it is that paragraphs are meant to contain information, not just to be meaningless?

Actually, it's probably the best guess i have right now...

jumpthru, that is indead an unusual paragraph. In fact, until you posted it I had never read it before. I should say that I am not use to reading it because this is the first time I have encountered it - so i'ts unusual to me. Also, I find it unusual because its odd, perplexing, unexpected and a little wierd. In short, I must agree - a most unusual paragraph!

It is missing the letter "e", the most common letter in the English language.

I just ran a search for:
    Feynman and the s-shaped sprinkler
on Google. Apparently, he did the test and it wouldn't spin. It wasn't clear on why, but says maybe because the water comes into the sprinkler from all around the hole, not in a line, which is what I thought. But it doesn't say this is definitely why it doesn't work. So, the answer is, it doesn't spin. Anyway, continue.

    I've heard this one.

It's a man, sitting on a stool, eating a fish, and giving part of it to his dog. Or, it can be a 3-legged table, since you said he sits "at" three-legs.

I pass my turn, as usual.
