Need to encode a date for use as a passcode on another form.

I have 2 forms that must be filled out by users. The forms share one common field which is a time field. Users are not using form1 and going straight to form2 which applies more to them so I need a way to make sure they can't submit form2 without using form1 first.

I would like for them to have to post the time in a field on form1 which would provide them with an access code they need to paste into form2 otherwise it won't submit.

So I guess all I need to know is how to generate a code based on the time entered in a field on form1, generate an encoded value from that form and then check for that value no a field in form2 by comparing it to the time field on form2.

    I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for any help with it.

And you want this all done w/javascript? I mean, it's possible, but would be much more secure (and easier) with a server-side language
