    Well,

    After I saw Skunk's earlier thread, I thought I'd document how I made search engine friendly URLs for geekareaforums.org( since a few people asked me )

    half of my method you could use either way ... except I went one step further, I told apache the script to look for, in order to speed up the process furhter... this can be done via:

    <Location /someLocation>
    ForceType application/x-httpd-php
    </Location>

    that way, apache runs whatever URL it is as a PHP script, after which you can pass it the variables in the /asdf/bla/boo/hoo/foo/bar form ..

    with 1 catch. I went further and put the variables in /asdf=yadayada/boo=blab form, making the extraction process simpler

    any how, just so i dont end up writing an essay.. hehe, read the little snippet i wrote:

    Same way we've used for about a year or so on a directory site we wrote for a client.

    It is much more elegant as it removes the .php or whatever you care to use as the extension.

    The search engines don't mind the '='?
