Can someone point me to a good (preferably freeware) program that will let you view and organize your fonts in a list? I have over 50 MB of fonts and I'd like a quick and easy way to view them
Thanks for your help!Sherice Jacob - Web Improvement Expert

I would also recommend checking out a program called The Font Thing at http://www.ozemail.com.au/~scef/tft.html .

Uhm... is there any specific reason you would need 50 (!) MB of fonts?
How many fonts are it, anyway? 1250? 1394?
Just tell me that you don't have them all installed on your Windows PC but on some Linux box...www.nyanko.ws - My web-, software- and game development company.

I thought Windows got slower and slower as your fonts build up. I'm also quite sure I already got a warning from some program because I had/was about to install more fonts...

Hello, my name is Sparkie
...and I am a font-addict
No, really I must have over a thousand fonts altogether, some on disk, some on the hard drive, some on CD. I download interesting ones that I might be able to use on websites in the future (notice the font I use for graphics on Pawsitronic.com fits purrfectly?
Thanks for sharing those program URLs, I'll check them out later tonight when I'm home.Sherice Jacob - Web Improvement Expert

BTW: there is a finite limit (or seems to be) to the number of fonts you can put in the win98 fonts foder. At one point I had just over a 1000 and wanted to install another one, and was told that I need to uninstall one or more fonts first.

Thanks for pointing out the different programs! I really appreciate it
so far I haven't received a message about having too many fonts though (surprisingly)..

I used to have quite a lot of fonts installed but since they took quite a lot of memory, I uninstalled most of them. I also remember using a font manager, but couldn't recall its name.

Hey guys,
I don't do much with fonts, and I have only 333 fonts, but it's 97.5 MB!

That's nothin'.
I have about 300 MB of fonts. (Granted, I only have about one-half of that (~150 MB, ~750 fonts) in my Windows fonts directory, and the rest in a folder called "unused"
but still.

lol
i keep fonts installed to the bare minimal. I just have fonts which would assist me in creating images etc.
so browsing through the font list would be easier ( like in adobe ps... )"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

50 megs is nothing...
Back when I was collecting fonts, I had over 200 megs worth.
The key is that you don't have them all on all the time. If you really want a good Font Management tool, I recommend you purchase Adobe Type Manager. There is no other tool for the PC that is as useful and essential for the management of fonts.Adobe Certified Coldfusion MX 7 Developer

do a search on The Font Thing. It's a great little freeware font listing tool that also allows you to install/uninstall fonts, preview fonts in different sizes,...
I still have the beta version but it's pretty stable.
