Looking for some feedback as to which product is easier to learn in a short period of time. I have about a month to create an animated intro to our site and I've never used either program. I do prefer Photoshop over Fireworks, so I was wondering if I'd find Live Motion easier to use than Flash. Your feeback is greatly appreciated.

i think that whichever you use first will be the easier one to get a grasp of. i started off by using flash and a few months later (after getting used to it) i had the chance to use livemotion and it just felt like i couldn't untrain myself from flash quick enough to learn livemotion.

but i think that it's really going to come down to what setup you prefer, adobe or macromedia. just because you prefer photoshop over fireworks doesn't necessarily mean that you'll like all adobe products.

if you have the chance (and the time), give both of them a try and see which one you like.

As an intro to flash you might like to try the program called 'swish' its saves files in the .swf flash format and covers basic and advanced text effects mainly. Very easy to use and will give you some idea of what flash can do.
I dont know much about livemotion but flash itself can have a fairly steep learning curve, to learn any advanced effects requires learning their scripting language, I love it myself but its just what Im used to.

I dont have the link for the swish free demo handy. I'll try look it out if you need it.

Yes Swish is great, but it has a lot of limitations and cannot do as much as Flash can.

True, but for the paltry price, then I'd say it's worth every single cent.
