    currently my homepage is index.htm and I need to make it *.php This is all well and good, except- every search engine I know indexes my page with beartoothbullets.com/index.htm this causes a MAJOR problem! Any ideas? I'm using a very simple bit of code before the HTML tags. My host does NOT offer custom DNS settings, and I don;t feel like swichting to a free DNS server... so I'm going to use a PHP script in the top of my index page to redirect them if the host is loadswap.com to beartoothbullets.com/load_data....

    So if anyone has any great idea's, I'm listeing... I don't know what to do.. in adition, all the rest of my site is in *.htm pages and link to the home page with index.htm...

    thanx...

    Put a meta refresh with 0 sec delay on index.htm that points to index.php.

    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=index.php">

    is that the best way to do it? No serverside I could use in a basic HTML page?

    I guess that's my best option for right now... thanx, I thought about doing that, but it seems so unprofessional... oh well.

    Thanks Again

    You could put a .htaccess file in the root of your site with the following line

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .htm

    Then change your php script to be .htm

    would my *.php, *.php3, and *.phtml files still be pased if I added that line? I still want my *.php* files to be parsed.

    Thanks again Freddy, you've been a great help!

    great! You're a blessing.... now how about my SSI on my *.htm pages? I set my .htaccess so that SSI parses *.htm files.... so will my SSI still work (although I will use the require in PHP from now on) on those pages?

    Thanx Again,

    Alex
