Hi,
Our company is currently on the lookout for a web designer to join our web development team. However, as I've come to realize, finding a designer that is good and doesn't cost over $50 is a hard task.
So, my questions are these:
1. How much should I be prepared to pay a web designer with knowledge of Flash per hour?
2. Where is the best place to go looking for either freelancers or part-time workers in the web design area. The person I'm looking for doesn't have to have a graphical education as long as they have a good graphical sense.
Thanks in advance !

Try looking through sites like http://www.guru.com and http://www.freeagent.com and http://www.elance.com for resumes and profiles of freelance flash designers. I'm sure you'll find one that doesn't charge over $50/hour.

Hey Eirik,
I would be very interested in talking with you if you are still looking for somebody - and we could discuss the rate. I can provide you with lots of links to work that I have done and writing I have done for the 'Friends of ED' series, along with gif.com. Please feel free to contact me directly through email (sryder@webryder.com) or ICQ (60081110) !

Hi guys,
Nicky: Well, I've done some chatting with Shawn during the last couple of weeks, and he's absolutely interesting. However, he's a little over the price limit, so I haven't made any decisions yet.
Aspen & Vinay: I agree as well. I guess what I'm doing is trying to find out what level of quality I get for what price.
Andysan: By m8e I assume you mean me. If so, I'm based in Norway. Please feel free to contact me at eirik@netmaking.com if you're interested in further information.
Justin S.: Thanks for the suggestion. I might try it out this upcoming week.
Thanks to you all !

Generally good flash designers start at $50/hr. If there is heavy actionscripting and animation involved then the rate will easily double.
Good flash designers are hard to find because of their high demand. I suggest browsing through some of the flash resource sites, that's where they tend to hang out.
