How to make Object tag work for applets in IE?

    Hi All,

Stuck with IE I was trying to convert applet tags to object tags accordign to the standard. Works fine for FireFox, but IE simply refuses. BTW MSDN states that Applet is deprecated, though doesn't say what to use instead.

    I've found this page - http://www.student.oulu.fi/~sairwas/object-test/java/
and nothing, none of the tests work in IE, all but 1 work in mozilla. Any trick, or just no way? I'd rather avoid sticking php with browser specific ifs to generate diferent code...

Object is the official method but I believe Microsoft tends to use some from of ActiveX integration.

Here is how you do it

This webpage shows you how to convert from using HTML applet tags to XHTML object tags (works with multiple browsers (I.E included))
