access MySql on server from local machine?
hi there,
I wanna my scripts running on my local machine could access the remote MySql DB, how can I do it?Compare Hundreds of Web Hosting Plans

you would need extended (GRANT ?) priviledges to get into the mysql DB and edit the mysql hosts table , that said you can then give your (hopefully static) IP privileges on the server, or ask your host nicely!

ok I can do that,
but how can I refer the DB from my local php scripts
how do I tell the php on the local machine to go to a DB that is on "http://www.mysite.com/" and work with the server over there?Compare Hundreds of Web Hosting Plans

just set your host to www.myhost.com instead of localhost
