hi there, I wanna my scripts running on my local machine could access the remote MySql DB, how can I do it?

you would need extended (GRANT ?) priviledges to get into the mysql DB and edit the mysql hosts table , that said you can then give your (hopefully static) IP privileges on the server, or ask your host nicely!
now you can panic
ok I can do that, but how can I refer the DB from my local php scripts how do I tell the php on the local machine to go to a DB that is on "http://www.mysite.com/" and work with the server over there?
just set your host to www.myhost.com instead of localhost
