    Hello,

Just wondering who out there considers themselves graphic designers/artists? I don't mean do it for fun but really know what they are doing in things like

    Flash
    Photoshop
    Fireworks
    Etc.

if you are that kind of person would you please post here? I am looking for someone with the following skills:

    Flash
    Animation
    Graphics in General
A person with a "GOOD GRASP" on all the different areas of graphic design
    Someone who learns quickly

I would prefer someone between the ages of 14-17 if that is you please post!

    Sincerely,

    James Dasher

P.S. if someone meets my requirements I will further explain to them personally.

I consider myself a graphic designer/artist. I mean, I use such programs as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and do it as a profession.

Well, James, I believe I am a graphic designer. I may not be the greatest, but I do get things done. I use Fireworks as my main program. I'm not sure if I could help you or not. You may want to take a look at my design site.

    Oh, and also... I'm 16.

I consider myself more of a multimedia developer, I think people have to be careful if they describe themselves as graphic designers then it sounds like THAT'S all they can do!

I would consider myself a website and graphic designer, as well as a digital cartoonist Unfortunately, I'm over the age limit for your project, since I'm 21

I have a question: what's the point of this thread? Are you looking for a graphic designer, or are you just wondering who the graphic designers are around here?

Sorry about that, I was thinking of jamesglewis, I get you two mixed up sometimes.

Also, I think your signature is breaking the SitePoint community guidelines? I think they allow signatures to be 4-5 and I count yours as being 6. Maybe I'm wrong.

Ok, here is the point (since it was asked)...I think I found someone, but.

I am with some partners starting a web development/design company. Together we complement each other and take care of all the issues necessary except for graphics. So I posted this to see if anyone would respond who didn't already have a job or company. I think I have found someone though, so thanks to all for posting.

Also about the signature, I will change it if I am messing up I didn't think spaces counted, if they do thanks for pointing it out.

I am pretty good at the graphics programs, but I'm still learning some of the more advanced stuff. By the way, yesterday I completed http://www.comoxrealestate.com after about five different design changes!

    I guess I wouldn't fit into your age requirement, I'm 13 years old :-(

I am quite good at Flash, doing raster graphics in Photoshop, and what not, BUT, by no means do I consider myself a graphic designer/artist.

Just as people that know how to set their vcr can't quite go around calling themselves programmers, people that can use photoshop shouldn't go around calling themselves graphic designers/artists.

There is a lot of theory and concept behind graphic design. It's not about pushing pixels that look good - it's about asking "Why is this element here" and "what best conveys this", and so on.
    eh?

The age stipulation is for this reason,

    1. All of my other partners are in this age range and while we could work with someone of an older age range it would add some hassles we don't want to take on right now. Also I am afraid that if we went with someone over 17/18 they would be going to college and getting the rest of their life 'setup' and would not be around long.

    2. While we could go with someone younger than 14 we don't want legal hassles if they ever came up. We would consider it if their work was exceptional but would prefer to bypass this for now.

I have a knowledge and own all of these programs...

    - Macomedia Flash 5
    - Paint Shop Pro 7
    - 3D Studio Max

I am also a fast learner so I can purchase and learn new products.

I am also 16 years old.

I am not too sure why you wanted to know that... is it for some work or somehting?

    Get back to me!
