Not bad!
For those really looking to make quality icons, visit The Icon Factory. 32 bit icons, tools, community, great resource.

Does anyone have a free Icon making program that I can import an image I create in PS?

We can't use those on our sites, right?![]()

No - all the icons are for inspiration to get your creative juices flowing
This is a nice little site where you can purchase pre made icon sets.
Rats, free icons always appreciated.
Anyway, thankies.![]()

No problem![]()

Cool post. Thanks!

Hi,
Just out of interest, what is the best way of making an icon like the ones above? They look so goodClean, crisp and clear!
I have some photoshops PSD's that I made, but whenver I try to make an icon with them, they turn out very blurry and bad quality.
Is there a special skill required or do people use different programs to create them?
Thanks,
Nathan

Your graphics are probably anti-aliased, try creating them aliased. Also, try using the pencil tool rather than the brush tool.
More info on aliasing here![]()
Wow FrozenToast!!
I can't thank you enough!! I didn't realise that's what was causing the problem. I just made some changes and turned off anti-aliasing which was set to anti-alias crisp and suddenly it looks incredible![]()
I wish someone told me earlier about this.
Thanks,
Nathan

Heh, no problem![]()
you can also get the program Microangelo...for the sole purpose of creating icons...its really a good program in my opinion.
Download the shareware at www.download.com or www.tucows.com

there is a great plugin for Photshop on the following post http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/show...hreadid=139694
Best thing is - its FREE! (works ok too)
