Connecting to SQL through Access

Hi all,

I need to be able to connect to an SQL database using Access 2000. I know there is a way to do this, but I can't figure out how. I was able to create a system dns to the sql database, but how do I tie that to access?

You need to use an Access Data Project.

File --> New --> Project (Existing Database)

Save it where you want it and then you will see the "Data Link Properties" box. It should be pretty self-explanatory from there. You don't need a DSN or anything like that. Just pick your server, give it you login credentials and pick your database. Click ok, and off you go! One SQL Server database within the Access GUI.
