I have noticed the only way that I can get dreamweaver to make a table cell smaller than 19 pixels high is to put a small spacer gif into the cell. Without the spacer dreamweaver gives me an error saying the size is smaller than the minimum cell size or something like that. Does anyone know what this is caused by and maybe has a better solution?

    lucas,

I think it's because Dreamweaver puts non-breaking spaces into the cells so that the cells don't collapse in some browsers.

The non-breaking spaces take the size of the default font size of the page.

Using a spacer gif is probably the best way or you could create a style class that has a small font and apply the style class to to table cell.

We shouldn't really need to use the   in empty cells but even N6 can't deal nicely without them.

IE5 and Opera 5 for Windows are ok though.

yeah, i really think netscape dropped the ball when they built version 6. you think they would have all the features and compatibility of the most successful browser *cough* IE *cough* and then improve upon it.
