Are you looking for a script? If you can run cgi scripts you can try installing one on your server...

you can find a lot of perl cgi-scripts at cgi-resources.com, you can also try writing one yourself with asp.

I recommend you check out http://www.hotscripts.com as they have a directory for every popular programming language (ASP, CGI, PHP, etc). You can then decide which would fit your needs best.

This might sound a bit stupid but why dont you get a counter from TheCounter.com? I mean you can customize the look of the the counter so that you wont see that it is a commercial counter.

I have one on my site and nobody knows that it is a commercial one (well now YOU do) but I mean why have to write a counter when you can get it faster this way.

If you really want a personal counter written by you then you can go here .

    Have fun!

    A visible counter is amatuerish.

I wrote a ColdFusion counter script. It works off an access database. If this would work for you I can give it to you.

You could also use AXS which works via SSI - it does require perl though but you can install perl no problem.

The reason I cant use a outside counter service is because this is for a military site and connect access outside pages through the firewall, nor do they want it to. Thats what seemed to mess us up!
